Personally I really appreciate their understanding (you can come to an agreement with them amicably). There is a great advantage of the Bernese hounds that do not suffer from any health problems as a number of breeds do at present.
Although this is a hunting breed originaly designated only for work in a forest there is a number of possibilities we can offer to these dogs today. The Bernese hound will be overjoyed to run alongside you when cycling, go for long walks and devote to various "non-hunting" activities. Under all circumstances, however, their extraordinal need for exercise must allways be ( for instance my dogs love the exercise on hurdles).
Howevver, the Bernese hound is successfully used for work even today; although parents of my dogs passed exams for use in hunting I have no personal experience of this activity since I am not engaged in hunting (as concerns the exams the truth is that the vast majority of dpgs passing the exams today are not used for work).
